Simon Swindells
Managing Director / Audiologist
Simon Swindells

Simon qualified as a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser in 2004, and has experience of working for both independent firms and larger companies. This has enabled him to gain a wide knowledge of the different hearing aids available, which means that he can give the best service to his clients. In 2018 it became the right time to establish his own business, in order to bring together the individual service that client’s require, and the flexibility of a local, independent firm. Being fully independent means that he can supply the most appropriate hearing solutions for a particular client and give the correct advice in all situations.

``It's very rewarding to be part of a team that can help someone to hear better, I've learned that hearing is a gift that we all take for granted until it's gone. I have a long career history in private healthcare starting with Bupa in 1999.

When I'm not here you can usually find me in high viz and steel boots in all weather at community events marshalling large crowds or setting up road closures to raise money for Glastonbury Carnival. A big fan of live music, I'm fortunate to be able to attend many each year - with hearing protection, of course!``

``Since joining South West Hearing Care, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using my experience in client facing roles to adapt to, and help run smoothly, the reception here in Street.

Being part of a small independent business means I get to be involved with all aspects of a hearing journey; always learning, and having no day that is ever the same.

Playing a part in a small team with aligned values, I appreciate a really positive work-life balance, which is important to me having 2 growing children, and a busy household and husband to keep up with.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, seeing friends, and love finding new places to eat delicious food.``

``I am an RGN with over 44 years of nursing experience, mainly in Primary Care. I joined South West Hearing Care in October 2020, as a wax removal nurse offering microsuction and irrigation. I enjoy meeting people and find my job very rewarding. I am often able to help improve clients hearing, without the need of a hearing test.

In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog and oil painting.``

``I studied at the University West of England and qualified as registered nurse in 2001. Following this, I worked on various surgical wards and in theatre.

Once I had my two children, I moved into Primary Care, where I still work part time.
I enjoy all aspects of nursing, I find wax removal very satisfying and it is great to see the positive benefits it gives the clients.

I completed and passed a clinical ear care course with the Audiology Academy.

Outside of work, I am busy running around after my two daughters and husband! In my spare time I enjoy running, tennis and spending time with friends and family.``

``I live in Street so it's lovely to work for a local independent employer. I have worked here for 18 months and find the role really interesting, especially the interaction with clients. It's lovely to see their reaction after having hearing aids fitted or wax removed and can hear much clearer.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking my dogs and spending time with friends.``

``I joined the reception team at Westbury in 2023, and am delighted to be working for an independent employer. It’s lovely to meet our clients and interesting to find out what a difference we can make to their lives by improving their hearing.

In my spare time I enjoy being with family and friends, walking, crafting and travel.``

``My career before children was civil service management but I took voluntary redundancy when my children were small.

Before coming to South West Hearing Care, I was working for a Westbury pharmacy and got to know lots of local people.

I enjoy the interactive side of my job and seeing the joy on the faces of our clients when they leave the centre being able to hear again.

Outside of work, I live with my three children, two cats and five chickens.``
